Our objective was to create an innovative tool for employers, crafted by employers, to identify and benchmark the best international talent sources. What would become a powerful tool for monitoring business and societal needs
The Global University Employability Ranking and Survey (GEURS)!
The inaugural edition, named at that time the Global Employability Survey was launched, marking a significant event that showcased the top 150 universities for employability, selected by the top 100 employers and HR leaders from 10 countries.
Following the first edition, the next three editions we republished in what had become The International New York Times, each garnering growing success and coverage as we expanded to surveying employers from 25 countries. The end of this period marked a turning point in ourventure that led to its current format:
On November 12, 2015, we launched our long-term partnership with Times Higher Education (THE), initiated by Phil Baty and with the editorial collaboration from Ellie Bothwell.
This recognition underscored the importance of our innovative tool, which not only provides clear and granular data on employers’ expectations and future work trends but also plays a key role in analyzing universities’ performance in enhancing graduates’ employability.
In 2018, we advanced our efforts by developing a comprehensive framework based on insights from our market surveys and rankings. Emerging officially consolidated and introduced its employability measurement concept, rooted in practical experience and market-driven indicators known as the drivers of employability.
The GEURS now annually measures, tests, and refines metrics to assess each institution’s employability performance. This assessment grid enables universities to monitor and enhance their performance, aligning more effectively with employers’ expectations and future workforce trends.
